Well here we are on the doorstep ready for whatever lies ahead. On our way to the airport, fully laden but not as fully laden as we once thought.
When we booked out flights with Etihad, they told us we could have 2 x 23 Kg of hold luggage EACH. So as our cases were a bit old, we bought 4 new ones ready for the trip. Trouble was, internal flights didn't allow that much so for a great deal of our travelling time we would have to leave 2 cases in the left luggage at KL airport. When we calculated this at over 300 euros!! it was time to re-evaluate what we were likely to take - hence 1 suitcase each.
So, onwards to Blagnac airport, Toulouse for the first of 20 flights to Rome, then onwards to Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur where we have booked an apartment for the first 11 days.
To document our trip of discovery that has been greatly motivated by the diversity of food available and to sample a totally different culture to the one we are used to. This has been made entirely possible thanks to GOV.UK sending me State Pension payments :-). Also the countless hours Hazel has spent on the web researching destinations and booking flights, accommodation and tours
